About the topic:

The reliability and service life of products and facilities represent vital competition factors in this day and age. Dependable products increase customer satisfaction on the one hand, and reduce accruing guarantee and concession expenses. It is becoming increasingly important for many manufacturers in the capital goods sector to predict and reduce the life-cycle costs of their facilities and products. A methodical planning and safeguarding of the product reliability, availability and service life are necessary to meet these challenges in the face of the complexity of today’s systems.

Training procedure and goal:

The Reliability Green Belt® comprises the first of three modules in the qualification as a Reliability Engineer. In this module, the most important qualitative and quantitative methods of reliability engineering are imparted. The Green Belt training is deliberately structured to teach the participant when, how, and why the individual methods can be applied in the product development process. The essential reliability activities can thus be independently implemented and integrated in a company’s organization by its own employees.

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for this topic.

Software requirements:

Each participant must have a laptop with the following software: Microsoft Excel, Adobe Reader and Minitab (Version R15 or above). A demo version of the software Minitab can be downloaded from www.minitab.com. The software Minitab and Adobe Reader can also be installed during the training, but you should be aware that you need Admin-rights for your Laptop.

Please note: For your in-house event you can choose between the software Minitab, Weibull++ and Visual-XSel.

Examination / certification:

The training will end in all cases with a certificate of participation. Furthermore, there is the possibility to take a written examination for a certified Reliability Green Belt® at the end of the course. The certificate will be awarded by the University of Stuttgart and the Institute of Machine Components. The examination is in multiple choice form.

Training duration:

5-day training:

  • Monday from 09:00 a.m. to 05:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday to Thursday from 08:15 a.m. to 05:15 p.m.
  • Friday from 08:15 a.m. to 01:00 p.m.

Examination:

  • Friday from 01:00 p.m. to 03:00 p.m.

Training fee:

The training fee is 2,600.00 EUR excl. VAT.
